Foundations and Primers

Hi everyone! So this is my first post for this blog. I've created this blog mainly for fashion, style, health, cosmetic, beauty, etc. I'll be blogging about things I love, tried or want to try and have. Also everything on this blog is solely my opinion. BUT I'm very open to suggestions and thoughts...so please feel free to comment on anything I've posted. I love to get comments!

Okay, so lets talk about primers and foundations!

Smashbox Color Correcting Adjust Primer

I've been trying out this primer that everyone is raving about for people with redness and blotchy spots on their face. I have redness on my cheeks and red blemishes all around my face so I had to try this out! Let's just say that this primer is amazing...The primer does exactly what it says. The green tone reduces redness. Ladies..it does not make your face have a green tone to it (I've heard someone ask if it makes your face look green..LOL). One thing to remember is to let the primer set on your face for at least one minute before applying foundation.

The texture of the primer is not heavy and a little goes along ways. So what's the price? I bought mine in the Sephora department in JC Penny and I think I paid about $38, less then $40 I know. It's a bit pricey for me but I think that it's worth the money....

Next, let's talk foundation!

I've been trying the Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous foundation for a bit now and I've been finding myself in the makeup aisle looking for other foundations. I only tried this foundation because other friends have suggested it and it's not expensive at all. I paid less then $10 in Target.

I found this foundation very easy to blend and apply on my face. The thing I don't like about this foundation is that the color of the foundation changes after awhile. I'll apply this foundation on and a couple of hours later I'll check on my make up in the bathroom and the color has darkened. This makes it hard because then the color doesn't match my neck or skin color. I hate wasting money but I think I'll only use this foundation when I'm going out at night when the lighting is dimmer or I'll think about mixing the foundation with a lighter foundation.

Here's the wonderful NARS tinted moisturizer!

NARS Tinted Moisturizer

If your looking for a light foundation..try the NARS tinted moisturizer. I really love this product! This moisturizer works like a foundation but gives you a more natural look. I still use primer and my face moisturizer before applying this product. It's light and it doesn't make my face look cakey at all. I belive I paid about $40. I give this product a two thumbs up and it's well worth the money!

Next, the Maybelline "Fit Me!" foundation. I just got this foundation last week...and I'm LOViNG it! This is a light to medium coverage foundation. Save the full foundation for the evening ladies. For me, I love to have a lighter more natural look during the day.

This foundation has 18 different shades. For my lighter skin I use 120. I recommend this product to everyone. I give it two thumbs up plus 5 stars!

Two products I'm currently testing out and trying are the L'Oreal Magic Anti-Redness Correcting Primer and the NYX Matte Finish Fini Mat Setting Spray.

NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray

I'm trying to find a product just like the Smashbox Photo Finish Color Correcting Primer but cheaper. Let's get real people...I love the Smashbox product BUT if I'm able to find something that works the same way but cheaper...let's find it! I'll review this product when I've used it for several weeks.

Product info:
Paid about $12
Light weight
Reduces redness
Gives a radiant and healthy glow look

Lastly, the NYX Matte Finish Setting Spray...
Honestly I got this product because I wanted something to set my makeup and have it last longer. I've used pressed powder and my husband has said that the powder makes my face look a bit cakey..which I wanted to avoid. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but who knows.

I've tried this product once and I think I like it but I'm not sure yet. I know that the spray is a bit aggressive so I have to spray a bit further...extend my arms all the way out. I didn't expect that. I thought it was going to be a mist affect but I was wrong.

This product also comes with a Dewy Fresh Glow. I think I paid about $8.99 at Walgreen but I know it's less then $10.
